We really like this old vine zinfandel. It's a hit with BBQ ribs. Lots of bang for the buck at $9.99 or so. Big robust aroma on the nose a little tight at first but opens up in the glass keeping you coming back for a sniff. Black cherry, dark fruit & some spice with hints of oak & vanilla as it opens up. Full bodied in the mouth with taste much like the aroma, dark fruit, vanilla spice & oak again gets better as it opens up revealing more layers of subtle flavors.. Lingering spice finish. Some may like to uncork this or decant it an hour before serving.
Good everyday wine. Inexpensive, soft on the palate, very drinkable.
I'm not a complete shlock in the wine dept but you'd think so if you compare my review to the others!
Tried this once and once is enough. Life is too short to drink bad wine.
Probably the worst $10 bottle I've ever tried!
