Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

The fruit and aroma spectrum shows a greater depth of tropical notes with a distinct greener profile running through as well. This is an aromatic blend displaying aromas of elderflower, kaffir lime leaf, pink grapefruit and dried herb. The palate has a vibrant citrus focus with considerable fruit concentration finishing crisp and bright.

Pair with: steamed mussels
One of the amazingly consistent Sauvignon Blancs in the global market, the nifty 2013 Giesen Sauvignon Blanc exhibits grapefruti peel and dried leaves; brisk yet satisfying on the palate; crisp in the finish.

This is ok for the price, but there are Sauvignon Blanc's within a few dollar price range that are better. If you're looking for a Sauvignon Blanc that is smooth but still has a slight citrus taste, this is a good choice. If you want the strong citrus taste of the New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc's, I would skip this one.
