Winemaker's Notes

It isnt often that anyone other than a winemaker pays attention to the color of a wine, but the rich, golden hue of this Limited Selection Chardonnay cannot go unnoticed. Here, the color is a hint at what awaits in the glass.

Simply pulling the cork unleashes an avalanche of sweet smells. Toasted brioche, caramel, roasted nuts, pear tartin, golden delicious apple and sweet cream dominate the aromas and are tied together with a ribbon of Santa Ynez Valley mineral character.

The tactile experience continues the sumptuous precursors mentioned above. Ripe, sweet, creamy fruit coats the palate. Flavors of fresh pear and lemon cream combine for a winning combination. The wine is well balanced - entering ripe, sweet and rich, exiting clean and dry. This is a wine well-suited to a variety of dishes. The long, toasty caramel finish goes on and on. Enjoy now, though this wine will be at its peak of youthful enjoyment for the next 3 to 5 years.
