Deep ruby in color, the 2006 Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG displays floral notes of sweet violets combined with hints of cherry jam. The palate is full-bodied and complex with rich flavors of blackcurrent and plums that merge harmoniously with notes of fragrant woods and licorice that extend through the long finish. This wine can be enjoyed at present, but with proper cellaring will improve and soften over the next 6-8 years.

My review would be for the 2007 vintage. This wine was good, it was recommended at Olive's Garden with chicken and vegetables soup. The main course was spaguetti with meatballs and sausage; I felt it was very good, even though I was told it was a bold wine, I felt it was soft and rich with a sensation of fruits. Smells great and is really smooth. I feel this wine is good to enjoy even by itself.
