Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

The nose combines the sweetness of raspberry and violet with the spiciness of pepper, clove and tobacco, while in the palate the lush currant and plum fruit flavors balance with vanilla, cedar and nutmeg. This is a well balanced, medium bodied wine with nice tannins. Enjoy with lamb, duck, venison or steak. Enjoy now through 2018.

Critical Acclaim

"Another very good Cabernet from Fuse, at a great price, following the 2007. Blended with Syrah and Merlot, it's rich and soft in blackberries and cassis, with a peppered, smoked meat note that must come from the Syrah. Best now.
