Nineteen years and counting! It is hard to believe that Frogs Leap will soon be harvesting our 20th vintage of Sauvignon Blanc, our signature variety. While we are respectful of our Sauvignon tradition we continue to move closer to our goal of producing a Sauvignon Blanc that cleary reflects where it is grown. A pureness of flavor that begins with our Sauvignon grape supply - over 60% Rutherford appelation. To compliment, not compete, with that purity we are using less Semillon in the blend. The Sauvignon crispness reamains sharply defined as we are witholding any malo-lactic fermentation and completely eschewing the use of barrel aging. These techniques, combined with the whole cluster pressing, allows us emphasize the crisp, delicate Sauvignon character. The 1999 Sauvignon Blanc is refreshing, well balanced and truly reflects the evolution of our traditions.
