The long, slow, cool growing seasons of 1998 and 1999 make the combination of the richer, fuller Up-Valley fruit a natural complement to the leaner, cripser fruit of the Carneros. The result in 1999 is one of those rare and beautiful Chardonnays that has all the lush, citrus, yeasty, creamy aromatics you expect combined with surprisingly full yet balanced and resfreshing mouthfeel and a wonderful long hazelnutty finish.
