Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Netley Road Riesling is a wine that shows elegance yet has an abundance of power that can only be achieved from a 45 year old vineyard. Aromas of soft talc notes with a subtle floral perfume and hints of lime. A very elegant front palate with complex spice and fruit notes. The wine has power and weight through the length of the palate with a very fine thread of acidity that leads to a wine with a polished yet generous finish.

Critical Acclaim

"Pale, bright straw-green; the fragrant flowery bouquet leads into delicious palate, with sweet lime juice flavours tingling the the front of the tongue, thereafter joined by minerally acidity on the vibrant finish."
95 Points

"The plumpest of Frankland Estate's three single-vineyard bottlings in 2012, Netley Road offers subdued lime and tobacco aromas, then flavors of tangerine and pineapple. It’s softer than the others, but displays an attractively chalky element to the textured finish. Drink now–2020. "
