Aroma: Aromas of blackberry, plum, clove, coffee, and cassis with hints of toasty oak and sweet vanilla.
Flavor: Flavors of cassis, coffee and toasted oak add to this rich and mouth-filling Cabernet. A lingering finish is the result of a well-structured body, full texture with ripe, refined tannins.
In a world glut of cabernets, I usually don't try too many, preferring shiraz style wines presently. While attending a conference recently asked someone what they were drinking, and purchased a bottle. This is one smooth Cab, with plenty of flavors and complexities, very balanced and several steps above most I've tried! Given the head winemaker's resume, it is no surprise to favorably compare this to Stag's Leap.
This wine I picked up on the way to dinner with my girlfriend. We bothloved it. Its very smooth and has a great finish. If your going out to dinner for a byob or a friends house this is a great dinner wine. Recommend this vintage to everyone.
