winemaker's notes:
Diamond Collection Syrah-Shiraz demonstrates remarkable richness and complexity as
a result of blending fruit from several Central California appellations. Our San Lucas
vineyard, located at the southern end of Monterey County, is characterized by well-drained
loamy soils, which produce highly concentrated Syrah that offers luscious
berry aromas. Grapes from Paso Robles contribute red fruit flavors, texture and body
while the small amount of Petite Sirah from Hames Valley provides our wine with
structure. Because crop yields were extremely low in 2008, this year's wine is one of
the most intensely concentrated we've produced.
Appearance: Purple magenta.
Aromas: Plums, raspberries, allspice.
Flavors: Strawberries, boysenberries, pepper and cloves.
