2009 was an excellent vintage that featured only light spring rain, warm summer weather and no abrupt climate changes at season's end. This allowed us to be highly selective during harvest, choosing the very best fruit only when completely ripe. The result of these amazing conditions is a perfectly balanced and elegantly textured wine with supple tannins, rich fruit concentration and alluring notes of spice and wood. It is a lovely accompaniment to filet mignon topped with bleu cheese, grilled lamb chops or truffle buttered potatoes.

Tried a few bad clarets in my time, THIS is not one of them. If you've been hesitant to try a Claret, then make this the one to drink! Shared with friends over crusty bread, thin slices of ham with a gritty mustard and cheddar cheese and it held up well. Very tasty on its own. I will buy this again. And, it's in one of the collections, so check that out too!

This is an excellent, medium-bodied red wine - smooth and supple - perfect for pleasing a variety of tastes and crowds. I paired this with a truffle-infused pasta meal (white sauce-based) but it also paired well with chicken marsala.
