Winemaker's Notes:

Our unique Syrah-Shiraz is sourced from three specific vineyards in the central coast and blended with small amounts of Petite Sirah so that it's extremely dark and lush. From San Lucas, we get extremely supple fruit that undergoes a particularly long ripening period due to sloping southeastern vineyards, which otherwise experience fewer hours of intense daily sunlight. This fruit contributes a high level of concentration and intense blackberry aromas. The grapes harvested from Monterey County provide red raspberry flavors and a velvety texture. We also add Petite Sirah from Hames Valley for heightened depth and structure. 2009 was an excellent vintage that featured warm, constant weather all the way through autumn, which allowed us to be highly selective and pick the very best fruit only when completely ripe. Richly textured and extremely aromatic, our Syrah-Shiraz offers bright, spicy fruit, supple tannins and many intriguing nuances.
Appearance Deep garnet Aromas Plums, raspberries, minerals and dried leaves. Flavors Crushed berries, cherries, cloves and cedar.
