    Winemaker Notes

"On a tree-less bluff exposed to sun and wind, overlooking the Yakima River near Benton City, Washington lies an impeccably managed, very special vineyard named Klipsun. I worked with this vineyard while I was employed by Hogue Cellars, and simply couldn't walk away from its spectacular fruit - best described as INTENSE. The bluff, almost completely planted to grapes now by several wineries and independent growers, is aptly named Red Mountain, where arguably, some of the highest quality Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot in all of Washington State is grown. This vineyard is totally consistent, ripening quite early every year. Thanks to diligent management, the resulting wine is consistent too, exhibiting blueberry, blackberry and peppery chocolate. The wine's color is as intensely dark as the powerful aromas and robust body."
