Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Badiola, a blend of Sangiovese, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon, is a deep, inky purple color. It has an intense aromas of dark fruits and cocoa. Soft and smooth on the palate, with flavors of wild blackberries and raspberries. It's well balanced, with great depth and a long finish.

Critical Acclaim

"Black cherry and currant flavors are accented by violet notes in this structured, muscular red. This shows density and grip, as the spice- and mineral-accented finish lingers. Best from 2014 through 2020."
