Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Wonderful color - golden and bright. A bouquet of acacia and honey. Rich and generous with an aromatic freshness. Especially well-balanced, powerful and with finesse.

Excellent for the aperitif and as an alternative to seafood, fish, etc., or simply to offer your guests something really special!

Critical Acclaim

"Pale peach skin color. Nutty, mature aromas of poached pear, brown sugar, herbs and a hint of sherry. Fleshy and expansive but dry-edged, with smoky orchard fruit and hazelnut flavors and a late note of bitter lemon. Complex, smoky and nicely persistent, leaving notes of honey, singed orange and peach pit behind. This would be superb with a buttery seafood or mushroom dish. "
91 Points

"Firm and balanced, with subtle green pear, fig and anise notes. A mineral note pushes through and lingers on the refined finish. Drink now. "

Today, nearly 75% of Champagne...
