Winemaker Notes
The Chehalem Valley Chardonnay grapes were hand sorted at the winery to remove any unacceptable fruit, leaves and debris before reaching the press. The juice was fermented in new and one-year old French barrels. A long hot growing season tempered by cool harvest conditions yielded this flavorful Chardonnay. You will observe the balance of fruit, wood, tannins and acid in the wine. Excellent with halibut, game and a variety of poultry dishes.
Fisher Family Cellars is the wine label of Dean Fisher, a superb Oregon winemaker who creates small lots of rich, balanced and ageable Pinot Noir and Chardonnay
from Whistling Ridge, Coleman and other highly respected vineyards in the northern Willamette Valley. Extensive shoot thinning, leaf pulling and cluster removal are practiced in the vineyards to reduce the crop size and produce more concentrated wines. A custom-built processing line at the winery allows hand sorting of all the grapes. The resulting complex wines combine New World fruit with balanced French oak character.
