Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

This Viognier exhibits aromas of white flowers, jasmine, ripe peach, honeysuckle, vanilla, nutmeg and a hint of toast. Enjoy flavors of citrus, honeydew melon and apricot combined with lemon zest, vanilla and a touch of oak. Mineral driven with bright acidity, this Viognier will pair well with any spicy dish.

Blend: 87% Viognier, 8% Grenache Blanc, 5% Marsanne

Critical Acclaim

"Tremendous honeyed richness in this Viognier, yet as sweet as it tastes, it finishes dry, a magical trick only a great wine can accomplish. Shows all the exotic tropical fruit, wildflower and spice flavors you could ask for in a California Viognier, and never loses its vitality. Editors' Choice"

Rating:
(2/13/2013)
Perhaps my bottle was rotten as it was purely awful. I have had this wine prior and enjoyed it,(another vintage possibly) but this one ranks up there with moonshine. Enormously out of balance. Overpowering alcohol aromas and flavors. Not drinkable in the least.

Learn About Viognier

Viognier(vee-ohn-YAY) Viognier is best known for producing the rich, aromatic white wines of the Northern Rhone. Once a pricey commodity of the area, it's now much easier to find and drink. The perfumed grape creates wines of distinct aromas and flavors. Lower in acid and even lower yielding, Viognier kept to itself in Southern France until some traveling winemakers took hold of...
