I agree with Harry,it's such a smooth wine for it's youth. I found it very elegant and not so harsh and grapefruity as some sauv. blancs. I enjoyed simply on it's own. Delightful !
I recently finished reading the novel “A Very Good Year” by Mike Weiss. The novel follows the story of a bottle of Ferari-Carrano Fume Blanc from vine to bottle. I highly recommend the book for any oenophile and I highly recommend picking up a bottle of the book’s protagonist to anyone. The 2007 vintage of the Fume Blanc was wonderfully done. I was able to pick up a bottle for $25, which is a fair price for this wine. As one would expect from a well done Fume Blanc the texture was very light and the alcohol diminutive next to the flavor. The finish is surprisingly long for such a young white. I enjoyed the bottle sans food, but I imagine it would compliment any light fare marvelously.
