The 2008 Faust is a worthy successor to the highly lauded 2007 vintage in Napa Valley. The wine opens with aromas of red and black cherries, hints of violets and warm spices. A lush, full entry on the palate with blackberry, cassis, nutmeg and dark chocolate flavors leads to a plush, supple mouthfeel. A complex finish lingers with dark fruit and plenty of richness.

Earthy & Spicy
nice wine. i like to try various half bottles. to my (uneducated) taste, I'd classify this as Earthy Spicy, rather than Big Bold. Nice cherry notes; hint of cinnamon. Only medium tannins and mouth. Not especially exciting but on the other hand, not so bad either. Cannot compare it to the 2007 version, which was likey better. Overall reasonable for the discounted price.
