The 2009 Faust is a benchmark example of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine opens with aromas of red and black cherries, ripe raspberry, hints of violets and a lovely perfume. A lush, full entry on the palate with blackberry, cassis, coffee and dark chocolate flavors leads to a rich, supple mouthfeel. A complex finish with dark fruit lingers in the mouth. The wine continually evolves in the glass, making it worthy of another taste.
I have had several cases of this modestly priced wine in the 2007, 2008 and now the 2009 vintages. Each has been very good for the price, but this vintage is my favorite so far. Each sip seems to vary in flavor a little, and each is nice. This wine sells locally for $56.95 so this price is really excellent.
I had this wine for the first time tonight at a wonderful restaurant in Galveston named Rudy's and Pacos..... 2 bottles...it was sooooo good.
Fine wine! Silky smooth.
