Red wines that are more fruit-forward and lighter in tannin and body.

Wines where earthy and/or spicy dominate the flavors – typically medium to full body.
Full bodied wines that have concentrated fruit and are higher in alcohol and/or tannins. Some need age.
Deep, opaque purple in color, this delicious red offers classic aromas of cassis, herbs, tobacco, cedar and slate, which continue to unfold on the palate. Structurally, the wine strikes a perfect balance between the firm, fine tannins and the elegant, velvety mouthfeel. Long-lived and full-bodied.
Marciliano is best served with grilled steak, pot roasts, and balsamic grilled vegetables.
"The 2008 Cabernet Marciliano is 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Cabernet Franc aged in French oak. It shows good up-front intensity in its dark fruit, but then loses a bit of energy on the mid-palate and finish. This supple, soft Cabernet appears to be built for near and mid-term pleasure."
The Wine Advocate
"Cabernets Franc and Sauvignon show a united front with an authentic Italian feel. Umbria’s Marciliano is a dense and rich red wine, with savory aromas of blackberry, cured meat, dried sage, leather, tobacco and dark chocolate. The wine's tannins are firm and dense, but not at all sharp or thorny."
