Fairhall Downs Estate is located at Wrekin Road at the head of Marlborough's Brancott Valley. The site is elevated and North facing with light to medium free draining soils providing the ideal combination for growing premium quality wine grapes. The vineyard area totals 80 acres comprising Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Semillon, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir varietals.

The current Fairhall Downs wine production is tailored to meet market demands and has the flexibility to be increased at any stage should new markets eventuate.

The theme chosen for the Fairhall Downs label is the silhouetted hills in the late afternoon sun which form a stunning backdrop to the family owned vineyard.

The first wine released was Fairhall Downs 1996 Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, which achieved immediate success being awarded a Gold medal and Trophy for Champion Sauvignon Blanc in the Perth Royal Wine Show. Following this, Fairhall Downs Sauvignon Blanc has won gold medals and trophies for the 1997, 1998 and 1999 vintages.

Fairhall Downs will produce 10,000 cases of wine from the 2000 vintage.

Other plans for the year 2000 include a cellar door and offices, which will be built on the vineyard site in Marlborough's Brancott valley.

Fairhall Downs emphasises commitment to achieving consistent quality in producing premium varietal wines. This includes the consistency of each varietal wine style from vintage to vintage. This is achieved in the vineyard through restricted cropping and meticulous attention to sustainable viticultural practices combined with the skill of the winemaker.
