Winemaker's Notes

Intense red color. Very good concentration on the nose, with aromas of blackberry and cassis. Juicy and fruity on the palate, with hints of coffee and leather given by the oak. Full bodied, silky tannins and long finish. Drink now through 2015.

Critical Acclaim

"Bright ruby-red. Slightly medicinal aromas of cassis, plum, licorice, mocha, menthol and bitter chocolate. Began juicy and youthfully imploded, showing no easy sweetness to the flavors of dark berries, licorice and herbs, but this is ultimately denser and finer-grained, if tighter, than the Malbec Reserva. Finishes with a serious dusting of youthful tannins.

Yet it's hard not to get caught up in the wine market of the world and some...

Learn About Cabernet Sauvignon

(cab-uhr-NAY sow-veeh-yawn) King of Red Many refer to Cabernet Sauvignon as the king of red grapes. Perhaps that title is due to its ability to grow worldwide in a number of climates, or to the fact that it produces wine with such character yet such diversity. Either way, this grape is responsible, as a whole or a partner, for some of the greatest wines in the world. In Bordeaux,...
