Winemaker's Notes:

In 1970 David Lett produced America's first Pinot Gris, and Eyrie remains the acknowledged benchmark for this increasingly popular varietal in America. Eyrie Pinot Gris 1997 offers a medium body with crisp aromas and flavors reminiscent of apples. Its velvet texture and subtle hints of vanilla are enhanced by eight months on the lees.
My Notes:

About Eyrie:

The Eyrie Vineyards (eye-ree) was established by David and Diana Lett in 1966. Yamhill County's pioneer vineyard produced the Willamette Valley's first Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, and the first Pinot Gris in America. The vineyards are located in the Dundee Hills, the winery in nearby McMinnville.
