Winemaker's Notes

100% Shiraz from a cool climate growing region at an altitude of 1700 feet in the Great Dividing Range of New South Wales, one and a half hours drive west of Canberra, Austalia's Nation's Capital.
"
A continuation of record drought conditions during the winter of 2003 left the ground very dry and unfavorable for grape growing during the 2004 season." Only vineyards (including here) which had access to ground water were able to provide water for fruit set." The season was unusually dry from start to finish which led to lower than average yeilds at harvest, with tight clusters of small berries which resulted in a wine with deep dark color and fine tannins."
