Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Bright youthful purples and dark red. Exciting and full of exotic chocolate, minty, black cherry characters, with some white pepper overlaid with subtle oak character. Very sweet fruit with fine grained tannins persistent, which is a hallmark of this vineyard; excellent fleshy middle palate and a long supple and satisfying finish.

Critical Acclaim

"Starts off with some Rhône-like aromas of smoke, cracked pepper, blueberries and a touch of meatiness, then delivers vibrant fruit and spice on the palate. With its medium body and tart finish, this could almost pass for Crozes-Hermitage. Like most C-H, enjoy it on the young side for its fresh, juicy fruit. "
