Winemaker Notes
Aromas: Perfumey aromas of violets and rich, dark fruits intermingled with notes of toasty spicy oak.
Flavors: Intriguing black fruit and dried fruit flavors with a layer of toasty, spicy oak and a hint of tea. Supple and well-balanced with excellent structure.
Comments: The dominant grape of Chianti, Sangiovese was one of the first varieties planted in the Alexander Valley by the Italian farmers who settled the area more than 100 years ago. The immigrants recognized that the Alexander Valley shares many of the same climatic and soil conditions as Italys Tuscany region.
