This is a GREAT pinot Noir, not only because the price point is ridiculously reasonable--but because it's just damn fine wine. Clean, bright fruit notes with ripe cherry and a touch of floral notes. Nice, soft tannins on the finish and excellent balance of acidity. Great for sipping or pairing with food (a can't-go-wrong wine)!
Good charcoal flavor with full body. Fairly smooth and a good value. Would buy again.
Smooth, quite good, will order again.
New Zealand has great potential for Pinor Noir. This wine reminds you of a Savigny-Les-Beaune upon first opening. It has all the right elements, lots of cherrries and spice, but in the mouth it's a little sharp, a little thin and becomes tiresome after a while. It seems more of a commercial effort than artisanal.
Pinot Noir's in my experience don't need to sit long but this one did. Upon opening the alcohol seemed strong and the wine weak. After allowing it to sit for a while, it was OK with food.
