Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Inky blue black core and explosive purple rim. Extravagant salty-liquorice notes appear on the nose, intertwined wit pine kernel, a dash of Madagascan pepper corn and lashes of blueberry fruit. The palate is medium to full-bodied with a firm acidity and supple yet lacy tannins. Elegantly modern with a somewhat towering structure, the wine finally finishes with a sweet fruit guise, a touch of mint and deft yet spicy oak.

This organization seemed to favor quantity over quality and had most...

Either way, this grape is responsible, as a whole or a partner, for some of the greatest wines in the world. In Bordeaux,...
