This hand-crafted Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon reminds me of a sun-dried plum dipped into dark chocolate and then injected with Creme de Cassis. Perhaps a good food pairing also. Mildly tannic, bold fruit and enough acidity to keep the palate clean. Fruit from three vineyards are blended to craft our La Creole Reserve Cab. 40% D&L vineyards, 40% Oak Grove vineyards, 20% Vineyards of the Academy.
Food and Wine Pairing: This is a full-bodied and dramatic wine bringing out the best in roast duck, prime rib, venison or lamb. Avoid spicy chilies and lean instead toward rich brown sauces with earthy accent such as Rosemary, Thyme and wild mushrooms. Also, don't forget to try this bold wine with a decadent chocolate dessert such as a Chocolate Cappuccino Torte or Chocolate Blackberry Terrene.
