Exceptionally dark purple-red color. Violets, cracked pepper, blueberries, ham, and a suggestion of anchovy mingle in the aromas. Very full in the mouth, with considerable weight, yet surprisingly fine structure. Flavors follow from the nose, with power and great length, yet -- incredible balance, and no heaviness. Should be exceptionally versatile at the table.
