The 2011 has full black cherry and blackberry fruit aromas with a beautiful balance and a big, sumptuous, and juicy mouth feel. It also presents complex spicy aromas, with a nice creamy texture derived from the 10 months time it receives in, only, French oak barrels.

Really exceptional for the price in a rough vintage. Powerful and ripe zin, with a punch of cherries and raspberries to the face. Spices linger on the finish. Might require more extensive decanting or aging for those who are sensitive to powerful flavors and tannins. I generally prefer the Seghesio 2011 for its more brambly, elegant flavors and added potential for aging, but this one is not far behind. More on the level with the 2010 Dry Creek Zin. Great effort and execution from Easton!
