This vintage is very rich in color, inky black garnet with almost a reddish-blue edge. Notes of ripe cherry, plum, blackberry and vanilla dominate the nose, with nuances of mint, anise and pepper. Lots of barrel spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, are easily detected. Extremely full-bodied yet velvety smooth and spicy. With its deep, dark fruit flavors, it is the perfect accompaniment to a pot roast, beef stew or barbecued ribs.
