    Winemaker Notes

Crafted to emphasize the herbal and fruit flavors that match so well with food. This wine is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc from vineyards in Medocino and Napa counties, and Sémillon from San Luis Obispo County.A moderate marine-influenced growing season and rain-free harvest season produced perfectly ripe fruit, creating a wine with a full, round mouthfeel, and aromas of melon with a hint of fresh cut grass. We fermented 82 percent of the wine in French oak barrels to give it complexity and 18 percent in stainless steel tanks to enhance the grape's bright fruit lavors. Try this Sauvignon Blanc with fresh blue mussels sautéed with shallots, garlic, parsley, tarragon, oregano, and thyme, then cooked with white wine and lemon juice and served with hot sourdough bread.

We use the name Dynamite as a reminder of the origins of our winery and its vineyards, planted on the steep rocky slopes of the Mayacamas Mountains between Sonoma and Napa Valleys. In the early days, dynamite was frequently used to blast stubborn rocks from the vine rows. -Jeff Baker,Winemaker

    Dynamite Vineyards, California
With its name inspired by the method that workers used to create the original vineyard site on the rocky slopes of the Sonoma Valley, Dynamite Vineyards captured the public’s imagination when its 1991 vintage was released. More importantly, with their full-flavored character, approachable style and unbeatable value, Dynamite Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot were soon winning awards and fans.

As consumer demand grew for these impressive wines, Dynamite Vineyards gradually expanded its vineyard sources to include grapes grown throughout the North Coast (Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino and Lake Counties), primarily in mountain vineyards. In order to support its continued growth, Dynamite will soon move to a new facility close to vineyards in Lake County’s highly regarded Red Hills growing area. The colorful Dynamite Vineyards labels change each vintage while the wine maintains consistent quality and superb value.
