Winemaker's Notes

The darkest of our 2004 Pinot wines with a bright ruby/purple color. Soaring aromatics of incredibly intense black raspberries, fresh herbs, wild flowers and allspice. Great purity of fresh pinot fruit flavors with cassis, ripe plum and floral violet. Lovely vibrancy weaves its way through the core of the wine to a lengthy persistent finish which features solid, assertive tannins, bright zesty acidity and a hint of a developing truffle note.

Critical Acclaim

"Beautifully crafted, with a taut band of Pinot fruit built around a beam of vivid black cherry and wild raspberry. Finishes with firm tannins and a hint of stems, but also rich, earthy fruit flavors."
92 Points

"Saturated deep red. Very ripe, almost liqueur-like aromas of pungent cherry, framboise and sweet oak. Bright, very ripe and high-toned, with an almost grenache-like sweetness to its maraschino cherry flavor. Not especially complex but fat and concentrated. Finishes with substantial but sweet tannins."
