Winemaker's Notes

Spatlese [SHPAYT-lay-zuh] is German for "late picked." It has more richness and body than Kabinett because the grapes are allowed to ripen for an extra week or more. This Prädikat (ripeness level) often gives you the purest expression of the vineyard's terroir, because the fruit is fully ripe, but without any influence of over-ripeness or botrytis.

The hallmarks of this wine are purity and balance. An enormous fruit aroma and a dense texture on the palate, all held in harmonious balance.

This is a classic Mosel riesling! It has aromas of slate, petrol, and green apple, followed by green appl on the palate and a long, focused finish. Drink now or keep in the cellar for a few yers!
