Winemaker's Notes

Wehlen's "sundial" vineyard produces the quintessential Mosel Riesling: delicate and refined, with a racy minerality. The Spätlese("late harvest") designation means the grapes are picked very ripe, resulting in a wine with a rich texture and deep flavors. This wine has a fine citrus fruitiness that is balanced exquisitely by crisp Mosel acidity.

"Provence on the Mosel: This is fragrant with lavender and heady with honeyed fruit. It's so ripe and warm that it feels firmly Auslese, but the acidity finds a way to lift the wine off the tongue in the end and leave it clean and refreshed." —Wine & Spirits
