Winemaker's Notes:

At The Donum Estate we are dedicated to the pursuit of the ultimate Pinot Noir. With traditional Burgundian winemaking techniques, sensitive farming practices and unwavering passion for this varietal, we strive for an intricate balance between elegance and intensity in our wine. It is an expression of the exceptional terroir of our estate — the gift of the land.

This intense Pinot is filled with aromas of bright bing and deep black cherries with nuances of sweet plum, blueberries, earth and mineral. Its texture is dominated by a structure of sweet yet cinching tannin holding on to juicy raspberries, fresh blackberries and ultra ripe strawberries.

"Shows fantastic depth and focus, with aromatic trufflelike earth notes that highlight the pure raspberry, floral, cherry, herb and spice notes. This has a supple texture, juicy acidity and an intense finish that sails on and on. Drink now through 2015."

About The Donum Estate:

Since The Donum Estate's first release in 2001, Donum winegrower and founder, Anne Moller-Racke has remained committed to growing Pinot Noir based on a Burgundian grand cru model of estate farming. A Carneros grower for over three decades, Anne has worked alongside the industry's foremost authorities, including Andre Tchelistcheff, Dr. Phil Freese and Dr. Paul Skinner. As the caretaker for Donum's three estate vineyards - most notably, the 47 acres planted to heirloom and Dijon clone Pinot Noir and Chardonnay on Donum's 147-acre Carneros rance - her focus is on crafting wines that not only exhibit regional character, but also possess intensity, grace and power. With just a decade under its belt, Donum has secured a reputation as one of California's top producers of cellar-worthy Pinot Noir.
