Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Our much anticipated Mendocino pink wine made from 95+ year old Grenache Gris vines. This year we destemmed and stomped 100% to a 4ton wood vat where it stayed for 33 hours before we pressed off to tank. Here the juice settled for 24 hours before moving to neutral FO barrel where both primary & secondary fermentation began naturally.

Critical Acclaim

"Pale orange. Raspberry, cherry and musky flowers on the nose, with notes of blood orange and white pepper emerging with air. Juicy, penetrating red fruit flavors show good depth and impressive clarity, with bracing acidity adding lift. Closes firm and spicy, with excellent clarity and persistence."
