Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Bright red fruits led by early summer strawberry, fresh bing cherries mix with wild herbs and a hint of Mourvedre. Unlike many Grenaches, this wine is light on its feet, mixing a heady nose, with both fruit and minerals in the body. This is an El Dorado blend of Grenache from Fenaughty, Swansboro, Goldbud and Lightner vineyards and will simply shine on this summer's table.

Blend: 92% Grenache and 8% Mourvedre

Delicious Grenache - great example of how bright and refreshing the varietal can be. Yet this wine had depth to it as well. This is one of my favorite wineries and their Grenache really holds up. Great wine for gourmet pizza, pasta with a tomato-based sauce or just sitting on your porch...

It's often tamed by less fleshy, more structured grapes like Syrah...
