Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

This rosé has a salmon-pink color and a citrusy nose, with a dominant aroma of strawberries. A full-bodied, fresh taste opens out onto hints of fresh fruit. Well-balanced, round and crisp.

Domaniers Rosé will be a delicious companion to delicatessen meats, poultry, white meats, fish, Provençal and Asian dishes.

Critical Acclaim

"Light, bright orange. Musky, herb-accented aromas of tangerine, redcurrant and rhubarb, with a subtle touch of white pepper. Sappy and focused, offering slightly bitter red fruit and citrus flavors and a touch of licorice. Finishes warm and broad, with good power and lingering spiciness."

Somewhat disappointing; not up to the quality of Bandol Rose, for example.

Thirteen varieties are permitted in the region, the most important for rose being...
