Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Critical Acclaim

"Pale orange. Bright, mineral-accented aromas of strawberry and orange zest, with a hint of white flowers. Dry and precise, showing very good clarity to its tangy red fruit and bitter citrus flavors. Shows good bite on the energetic finish, leaving behind a cherry note."
89 Points

"A rich, juicy style, offering generously spiced flavors of melon, apricot and wild plum. Fresh and minerally on the finish. Drink now."

Domaines D'Ott is one of my favorite wines from Provence and the rose is superb. This, however, was a Selection and I found it disappointing vs. my expectations. That being said, it's crisp, light with wonderful flavors and can be paired with many summer dishes or enjoyed on its own. Worth trying.
