"Perhaps the finest wine I have ever tasted from Jerome Quiot is Vieux Lazaret's 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Exceptionnelle. This fabulous wine boasts an inky/ruby/purple color as well as a sweet nose of cassis, black raspberry liqueur, spring flowers, and hints of graphite and truffles. It is deep, ripe, full-bodied, rich, and multidimensional with a stunningly long, 45+ second finish. Give it 2-3 years of bottle age, and consume it over the following two decades. Range: 92-94"
The Wine Advocate
"A single vat's worth of wine culled from teh cellar's best lots, this is silky and sophisticated. There's a wild meatiness to the black raspberry and cherry flavors that contrasts its vanilla gloss, and an herbal acidity that keeps it shapely and firm. Just beginning to reveal itself: Give it ten to 15 years in the cellar to see what it becomes."
Wine & Spirits
"Highly toasty and oaky, and yet the wine never seems too extreme given the intensity of the cherry fruit. It's full bodied, lush and supple, with a long, mouthwatering finish. Drink now - 2019."

As the name suggests, the wine region was named after the new papal home, referring to the period of time in the 1300's when the pope resided in Avignon instead of Rome. Notable Facts...Read More About Chateauneuf-du-Pape
The Rhone region of France has a delightful selection of red varieties. There are 22 grapes allowed in the Rhone AOC, about half of them red. Most of these varieties are used as secondary blending partners, often comprising less than 10% of the blend. The primary red players of Rhone blends are Syrah, Grenache and Mourvedre. Most wines from the Southern Rhone use Grenache as their...Read More About Rhone Red Blends
