Rosé from Tavel, Rhone, France
This wine has a steady rose color, brilliant and cristal clear. Very complex aromas from flowers, white fruits and red fruits (strawberries, pomegranate, raspberry) to slightly mentholated notes. The palate is fresh, classy, elegant and very long.
Pair with roasted and/or spicy chicken, duck, goose, fish soup, white meat and seafood, as well as most Asian cuisine. Also pairs well with dishes with garlic and dishes with tomatoes.
Blend: Grenache 60%, Clairette 15%, Cinsault 10%, Syrah 10%, Bourboulenc 5%
International Wine Cellar - "Bright orange-pink. Pungent aromas of dried red fruits, wild herbs and rose, plus a hint of blood orange. Deeply pitched red fruit flavors are complicated by dusty herbal and floral nuances. Powerful but well-balanced and dry, with lively red fruit and spice notes on the finish. Many Tavels can be ponderous, but this one isn't."

Notable FactsGrenache reigns as the primary varietal for the Tavel blends. Cinsault, Mourvedre, Syrah & a few other Rhone varieties are often used in smaller amounts.
