It starts off with a radiant, complex bouquet with a combination of notes of raspberries, red currants, cherries and strawberries with floral nuances. The dialogue continues in the mouth with the discovery of a red wine with a delicate, elegant structure and good underlying concentration.
"The 2009 Nuits St. Georges Clos de l'Arlot has begun to shut down, even though it possesses tremendous depth. The warm, radiant personality of the vintage is present but the tannins have become much more prominent over the last year, always a good sign for potential longevity. The 2009 reveals notable freshness and vibrancy all the way through to the finish, where the wine becomes weightless and totally beautiful."

"Here too a subtle touch of wood sets off intensely floral, fresh, notably ripe and very pinot aromas that complement well the rich, intense and lightly mineral-laced flavors that are supported by buried tannins and excellent length. This is an elegant yet quite serious effort that is well-balanced and should age well. Readers should be aware that the stem tannins are explicit at present and will need time for them to completely integrate."
"Lean, pure, red berry nose. Medium-bodied, supple, and silky, with discreet tannins and good acidity. Lean and pungent, and a classic expression of this vineyard. Good length and will age well."
"Good medium red. Aromas of strawberry, pepper and herbs lifted by a pungent note of blood orange. Juicy, tight, pure and suave; youthfully imploded today but very fresh. Less broad than the 2009 version but pristine and long, with firm, fine tannins and solid minerality."
