Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

The 2013 Domaine de Fonsainte Gris de Gris displays crystalline salmon color with superb amethyst tints. On the nose, the expressive aromas of fresh red berries and exotic fruit give way to a balanced interplay of fresh fruit, superb acidity and minerality. A wine of direct and considerable freshness, this consistently stunning wine is as delicious and fresh as ever.

Ideal as an aperitif, this wine can be paired with toasted bread and fresh tapenade, seafood, and grilled meats.

Blend: 70% Grenache Gris and Grenache Noir, 10% Mourvedre, 10% Carignan, 10% Cinsault
