Winemaker Notes

Côtes du Ventoux Persia is bright purplish crimson with the subtle aroma and supple on the nose offering the taste of the vital fruit with an oak polish on very fresh. The best pairing for this wine is with Roasted meats, meats in sauces, duck breast or leg of lamb.

The Syrah-dominated cuvee is the 2015 Cotes du Ventoux Cuvee Persia (there’s always a splash of Mourvèdre). Aged in foudre, its saturated purple color is followed by terrific notes of blackberries, wild herbs, pepper, violets and campfire. Medium to full-bodied, beautifully textured and seamless, drink this Hermitage-like beauty anytime over the coming decade or more as well.

Enticing, with lots of ripe blackberry and boysenberry compote flavors, laced with brambly grip and backed by lively anise and tobacco hints. Gently toasted, letting the fruit win out. Drink now through 2019.

Domaine de Fondreche, France
Domaine Fondrèche is situated on the picturesque foothills of Mount Ventoux in the village of Mazan. Young winemaker Sébastien Vincenti, a protégé of André Brunel, is without a doubt the leader in quality in this southern Rhone appellation. The 35 ha of vineyards at Fondrèche are cropped to produce nearly half the yields of his neighbors, making Sébastien's wines deeply textured and intensely fruited.
