...the 2008 Regain, is a blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah. It offers a deep ruby/purple color along with lots of dusty, loamy soil notes intermixed with notions of pepper, black cherries, spice, and flowers. Pure and medium-bodied with some light tannins to be resolved, it is a gutsy, delicious red to enjoy over the next 2-3 years.

Domaine Vindemio Winery Image
Vindemio is a vineyard estate created in 2006 by a group of friends united by a passion for wine, and a belief in the conviviality and pleasure that comes with wine. They have been brought together by Jean Marot, former winemaker of Domaine le Murmurium, and his son Guillaume.

The small property, at the foot of Mont Ventoux, consists of 13 hectares of organically and biodynamically farmed vineyards near the villages of Mormoiron and Villes sur Auzon at about 300 meters elevation.

With bold fruit flavors and accents of sweet spice, Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre form the base of the classic Rhône Red Blend, while Carignan, Cinsault and Counoise often come in to play. Though they originated from France’s southern Rhône Valley, with some creative interpretation, Rhône blends have also become popular in other countries. Somm Secret—Putting their own local spin on the Rhône Red Blend, those from Priorat often include Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. In California, it is not uncommon to see Petite Sirah make an appearance.

Stretching across the slopes of the Ventoux mountain in the southeastern region of the Rhône River Valley, Cotes du Ventoux excels in the production of spicy and characterful red blends based on Grenache, Syrah, and other indigenous varieties. The region also produces rich and aromatic whites and rosés.
