Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Secondary fermentation for Pétillant and Méthode Traditionelle sparkling wines takes place in bottle. Aged in manual riddling racks for almost two years before dégorgement. Dosage consists of cane sugar and aged still wine.

Critical Acclaim

"A dry, taut style, with powdered ginger, cardamom and quince notes that run through the minerally finish. There's latent length, with the fruit emerging more with air. Cellar. Best from 2012 through 2015. 2,400 cases made."
