Winemaker's Notes

Gevrey-Chambertin Aux Echezeaux is a more tender and elegant wine, less tannic and more silky than the other Gevrey village wine produced at the domaine.

Critical Acclaim

"Medium red. Slightly reduced but complex aromas and flavors of raspberry, strawberry, redcurrant, iron and rose petal. Fat and sweet but with good inner-mouth tension. Finishes with broad, suave tannins and vibrant red cherry and mineral flavors. A village wine with real lift. 89-92 points "

"The 2009 Gevrey-Chambertin Aux Echezeaux opens with an exuberant bouquet of roses, berries and spices. It shows gorgeous depth and finesse in a weightless, elegant style. The round, textured finish is gorgeous. Aux Echezeaux is on the border with Morey. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2029."
91 Points

"A very fresh, cool and bright nose speaks of red berry fruit, warm earth, underbrush and a hint of the sauvage that carries over to the supple but entirely serious medium-bodied flavors that possess excellent precision on the firm, focused and persistent finish. "
